Dahshuriya is a unique place where lush palm trees and vibrant ideas flourish together, nurturing creativity and exceptional films. Immersed in this inspiring Egyptian countryside, I felt a deep sense of renewal. Collaborating with participants over a week sparked hope, as I saw a new generation of Egyptian filmmakers poised to achieve what we once only dreamed of. The Dahshuriya team, led by Marianne Khoury, crafted an environment where such artistic growth was not only possible but inevitable. May Dahshur continue to thrive, enriching us with more remarkable film projects for years to come.

Jean - Michel Frodon

I have been invited twice in Dahshur to organize a workshop dedicated to film criticism. Each time with about twelve young Egyptians, some of them in a early stage and other confirmed film critics, the work itself turned out to be extremely efficient and pleasant. The attendees confirmed it was useful for them, and it also was for me as I learned a lot during these weeks– the best evidence that a professor teaches well is that he or she too learns from his students. But all this professional and serious procedure would not have been possible without the quality of the hospitality, the kindness of the people working there, the good food, the laughs and chitchat at breakfast or at diner. Under the efficient and motherlike management of Marianne Khoury, the right mix of necessary study atmosphere and of friendly relations made the unforgettable accomplishment of these sessions.

I enjoyed every moment of this intense and condensed workshop and I would recommend “Dahshuriya”. all were professional and at the same time very human and familiar with nice relaxing evenings and great homemade food.

Maggie Soboil

I had the great pleasure of giving my workshop 3D Screenwriting in Dahshur in September, 2023. I would say the entire experience was pure joy. All those who organized the workshop….Marianne, Nancy , Ayman and Peri were the loveliest, efficient, and most generous people. The staff at the residence itself were so kind and the food was delicious. The writers and actors were intelligent, open and passionate. I’ve even maintained some friendships to this day. It’s a magical location with the Pyramids almost outside the door, and the call to prayer each dawn. I loved that we were isolated in a beautiful world of our own, with no outside interference or temptation, so it’s just about discovery and an exploration of the work. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
