This interactive workshop aimed to empower, train, and build the capacity of young filmmakers also in creating more Gender Sensitive Media.
It offers coaching and insights in accessing the power of your authentic ‘voice’, and polishing your tools to better understand the artistic, technical and financial opportunities you are laying before decision makers .
The workshop takes the form of group sessions and individual feedback, in a sharing process guided by experienced mentor and tutor Dima Al-Joundi .
Born in Lebanon. She left for Brussels in 1984, where she graduated in 1988 from the INSAS in Script & Film Editing with distinction, and worked as a film editor on feature films, and documentaries.
In 1994, she directed and co-produced her first Docu-Fiction “Between us two,Beirut”, followed by “The silk road in Anatolia”, and the documentary “The Barefoot Diva” about the Cape-Verdian famous singer , CesariaEvora.She moved to Paris in 1995, then left to Sri Lanka, and worked as a producer-director for Young Asia TV, and specialized in Media related to Humanitarian, such as the street children training. In 1998 she returned to Lebanon and established Crystal Films, a film production & Distribution Company, and the pioneer of the first Europa Cinema Theatre in the MEA.
She produced & directed more than ten documentaries between Europe & the MEA.” MAID FOR SALE” (2005) won the audience award at Vesoul Int Asian Festival- MDG United Nations Award.
She was the executive producer of the feature film HADEWIJCH (2008) by Bruno Dumont and the Egyptian feature film EL-SHOOQ (2009) by Khaled EL-Hagar, and the producer of the feature film “Khalass” By Borhane Alaouie.
In 2010, she was the senior audio-visual expert for the evaluation of Euromed II Programme for the European Union.
Since 2010, she has become a mentor and tutor in the field of Films & TV with Madrid media business school, Euromed-EU, Ina-France and Unesco -gender medias trainings.
Between 2003 and 2005 she was the jury member of Intergovernmental Francophone Agency. Since 2006, she is the vice-president of APIMED (Association of Mediterranean Independent Producers). She co-established the Medimed Doc Market in Spain.
