Dahshur Workshops was especially excited to collab with the Ismailia Film Festival bringing a special masterclass by renowned film expert and producer Isabelle Fauvel, titled Gardening and Agriculture as a Metaphor for Film Development: Towards a Sustainable Process.

Dahshur Workshops is collaborating with the French University in Egypt through the Architecture Department’s “Material and Ideas” program. This partnership supports heritage preservation and promotes ecological thinking in design education.

Dahshur Workshops is proud to partner with Zawya Cinema for the 2024 and 2025 editions of the Zawya
Short Film Festival. As part of this collaboration, Dahshur introduced a customized award, offering the
winner a place in an upcoming Dahshur Workshop.

The filmmakers’ approach in the Middle East region has changed, recently, regarding genre cinema. It is no longer associated only with commercial films or mainstream Hollywood films. We believe that the region is abundant with rich stories ideal for genre treatment and that Genre Cinema can be the savior of independent Cinema in the region.

Dahshur Workshops is opening the call for applications to “Make the most important 3 minute film in your life” with Karin Westerlund, The workshop concept is a film residency in Dahshur for 10 Egyptian filmmakers or visual artists who will work on a personal topic and produce a 3 minute film. This residency program is for 10 days from September 23rd to October 2nd, 2021

The workshop aims to develop participants’ abilities to work on personal stories that come from the heart and produce a 3 minute film.

By combining creative and intuitive writing methods with self-hypnotic techniques, you will discover powerful tools to reveal your deepest intentions, develop your ideas, give shape to your writing, and communicate with your inner artist.

The aim of the workshop was to develop participants’ abilities through personal work, starting from film diaries to producing cinematic material that represents them, their lives and their realities.
