The workshop encompassed a comprehensive approach to visual and sound production, featuring expert guidance from professionals in the field. Ahmed Gaber, the sound editor, dedicated two days to sharing his extensive knowledge of sound editing with the participants.

The filmmakers’ approach in the Middle East region has changed, recently, regarding genre cinema. It is no longer associated only with commercial films or mainstream Hollywood films. We believe that the region is abundant with rich stories ideal for genre treatment and that Genre Cinema can be the savior of independent Cinema in the region.

Dahshur Workshops is opening the call for applications to “Make the most important 3 minute film in your life” with Karin Westerlund, The workshop concept is a film residency in Dahshur for 10 Egyptian filmmakers or visual artists who will work on a personal topic and produce a 3 minute film. This residency program is for 10 days from September 23rd to October 2nd, 2021

The workshop aims to develop participants’ abilities to work on personal stories that come from the heart and produce a 3 minute film.
